Membership-defined rollup issue #265

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. In Household Settings, select a Record Type that you want to be part of the
Membership rollup
2. After the Membership Record Type is defined, create a Donation record using
that Membership record type. (it won't roll up to the Contact)
3. Now create a regular Donation record with a Donation record type. (it won't
roll up to the Contact record neither nor will any Donation record after it)
4. In Household Settings, remove the Membership record type and then post a
Donation on the same Contact record (it will now roll up everything again
including the past records).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

As long as the Membership record type isn't selected in the Record Type
Exclusion section in Household Settings, everything should roll up to the
Contact & Household records. Instead, nothing happens.

What version of the packages are you using?

Contact & Organizations 2.0.2
Household 2.3.5

Please provide any additional information below.

If a Membership record type is defined, but no Membership Donation records are
created, everything will still rollup. The minute a Membership record is
created, no rollups will occur after that record no matter what is posted.

I'm having some issues duplicating what you're describing.

Do you have any custom validation or required fields (even on page layouts?)
that are visible? How about excluded values in your settings? Do you have any
other packages installed?

If not, can you email me your org ID and grant login access? I can take a look-
Thx-

Hi Kevin...

It's actually happening on a few SF instances I'm working with right now,
but here is the one that you can go ahead and add bogus records to since the
Senior Center hasn't gone live yet (you can use contact record: Hedo
Turkoglu, where I have a few Donation/Membership examples).

Org ID: 00DA0000000BBdy

There aren't any validation rules on Contacts & Accounts (there are some on
Households, but it is validation for some custom fields) nor any required
fields. I also don't have anything on the selected on the Excluded values.
Here are the other packages that are currently installed:

Relationships 1.52
Recurring Donations 1.19.2
Affiliations 1.55
Groundwire Volunteers 1.10
Google Adwords 1.66

Thanks for looking into it. If you have any questions, you can call me @
206-268-6732.

Yup, this is a bug. Replicate:
2.3.5
1. Always Rollup to Primary Contact
2. Define Membership Rectype

Null object dereference error.

You can workaround this for now while we figure out what's happening by
disabling 'Always Rollup to Primary Contact' in the Households Settings tab.
