Hover Details allows editing of mirror accounts for individuals #345

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Hover Details enabled, using 1-to-1 model
2. User hovers on mirror account listed under Recent Items or lookup field
3. User clicks edit on hover pop-up, gains access to editing normally hidden
mirror account for an Individual.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Edit button not allowing edit view of mirror account. Instead see Edit button
allowing edit of mirror account.

What version of the packages are you using?
2.0.2, also 2.1.2

Please provide any additional information below.

Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about this particular piece of
functionality, as its baked into the platform. One option would be adding a
trigger that disallows the editing of certain types of 1x1 fields, but the edit
view via the hover links is not something we can intercept.

Thanks for your response, Kevin. So on the Google Group post your comment re:
using AccountViewOverride logic applied to something else?

Linked to it above. Here it is:

It's from April, so I'm a bit late on taking action. (Only noticed your last
comment when I posted a new question to the group.)

It may be possible add a trigger to prevent that edit, but it can't be done via
the AccountViewOverride logic. It would require a major Contacts & Orgs
release, so I can put it on the request list for the next version.
