...occuring in Australia? Introduced? How do I find the respective reference? Seems there are no specimens of this neotropical species in the area ....

This comes from the old OSF. Two specimen records at Neoscapteriscus didactylus based on Rentz & Su 2019, A Guide to Crickets of Australia. I will ask Oscar Cadena who has the book and probably added the records.

In the new OSF the species can be found searching on the map. The reference is a little bit difficult to find among the altogether 32. The specimen records have been converted to an asserted distribution with Rentz & Su, 2019 as source (this is only visible in TW, Browse OTU).

Indeed introduced, this is the reference:

Rentz, D.C.F. (1995) The Changa Mole Cricket, Scapteriscus didactylus (Latreille), a New World pest established in Australia (Orthoptera: Gryllotalpidae). Journal of the Australian Entomological Society, 34, 303–306.

we should find this reference preferably when clicking on australia ...Interestingly I found that Catalogue of Life manages geographic citations with references showing up when hovering over the country name, however, this citation is missing . Note Author S.F. Group.... grafik

Of specimen records (often with source) from the old OSF were created also asserted distributions with this strange source: https://github.com/sfg-taxonpages/orthoptera/issues/50

In TW the specimens do have the source, in this case Hebard 1924 for Ecuador (Guayas, the coordinates are exaggeratedly precise) and Rehn 1903 for Nicaragua. From French Guiana is the type. imagen
