Thank you. MacLeay 1821 mentions "Acridium" as type of the "tribe" Acridina, and then says "The types of this family are the Acrides of Aristotle". So "Acrides" is a plural noun rather than a generic name.
Dubois et al. 2017 assign this "Acridium" to Illiger, 1801, citing a submitted Dubois 2017 paper that apparently was never published.
I will look into this. In any case we should probably sort the different family-group names with the appropriate citations.
According to the original description, the type genus of the family is Acrides MacLeay 1821 The name was proposed as an unneeded replacement for Acridius which is an unneeded replacement or a misspelling of Acrydius. The genus name Acrides is not present in the DB. Pleas see long discussion: https://doi.org/10.11646/bionomina.11.1.2
