RuntimeError: Encoding error: invalid sequence #620

"I'm using connectorx to connect to MS SQL Server, and I'm getting the error message 'RuntimeError: Encoding error: invalid sequence.' The collation_name of the database I'm connecting to is 'Chinese_Taiwan_Stroke_CI_AS.' Could this be the reason for the error? Are there any connection parameters I can set?"
