When within a captive network (s.t. a captive portal has to auth the client), the public IP logically displays the redirecting page instead of the public IP since no extra-LAN access is provided until authenticated.
It would be interesting to detect such redirections so as not to display the redirection page’s HTML in the gnome status bar… + it can make for a new feature by displaying if we’re in a captive network.
