Weather Widget Planning Issues #2

Note*: This issue will be updated as we work on this project

Before building out the weather widget I think we need to figure out what the tech specs actually are. Something along these lines:

[ ] Make a sample Google Sites page to see what is possible - #3
[ ] Make a simple widget to test the tech requirements of the Google Site - #5
[ ] Make the widget that updates by calling a weather API

Great! I have been researching google sites and gadgets, and trying to decide if a XML wrapped google gadget is the best way to go, or just HTML and JavaScript on it's own, which seems to be more easily embedded in the page than the XML. To be honest, I have not figured out how to embed the xml gadget yet. Also, could you elaborate on testing the tech requirements of the google site and what that entails? Also I am learning the gdata api to see if that will help.

By "tech specs" do that mean figuring out the OAuth obstacles and how we can use their google site in regards to embedding a gadget or some similar fix?

Mainly that we need to figure out what is needed to build a simple app for Google Sites
