Control + Backspace in Python Interpreter clears text above >>> #612

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run a few commands in Python Interpreter
2. Press Control + Backspace several times

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect control+backspace to stop at >>> (similarly to backspace). 
Instead, it clears previous code in interpreter

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.4.3 on x86 XP SP3
