Describe the feature you want implemented.
Add playlists that update themselves when certain criteria are met.

Describe why you think that this feature is needed.
It would be great to add a playlist based on an Artist, no matter the album, 
and have the playlist update itself when a new Album is added to the Library.
Or have a playlist based on a certain genre, and have it updated when songs are 
added/removed to/from the Library.
Or have a playlist based on a folder, and have it updated when new songs are 
added/removed to/from the folder.

Are there any other projects that inspired you? Do you have any screenshots or 
mockups to show a concept of this feature?

Sounds like a great feature. :) I will examine MusicBee and see how they have 
chosen to implemented it.

You can now do a search, right-click the search box, and select "Create new 
dynamic" under "Add to playlist".

This will create a dynamic playlist which automatically updates itself with all 
songs matching the query. The query can be changed by selecting the playlist 
and editing "Filter" in the details pane.

Combined with support for more advanced search queries (songs with bookmarks, 
artist/album/title/genre, specific folders, last play time, etc) this can 
become pretty powerful.
