New default keyboard shortcuts conflict with expected focus behavior of new tab #139

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open new tab with ctrl+t

What is the expected output?
Focus goes where set in fauxbar options. In my case, this was the omnibox.

What do you see instead?
"When Fauxbar opens, focus" is set to "Chrome's Omnibox" now. However, upon
opening a new tab, the focus ends up in the fauxbar address box. After reading
the changelog notes, I see this was just added. I thought I was going crazy. I
tried toggling the setting thinking something was corrupted.

Which version of Fauxbar and Chrome are you using, and which operating
system?
Windows 7
Chrome Version 27.0.1453.116 m
Fauxbar 1.3.1

Please provide any additional information below.
Maybe the solution is picking a different shortcut key if this is just going to
be enabled by default. This caused confusion and unexpected behavior.

Ah, right.

Under chrome://extensions > Keyboard shortcuts, the shortcut for "Open
Fauxbar's Address Box in a new tab" is set to "Ctrl+T" by default now.

But if you remove this shortcut, Ctrl+T will then trigger Chrome's normal
Ctrl+T behaviour, and so if you've set "Chrome's Omnibox" to be focused,
removing the shortcut will make this work as you're expecting.

I will add a note under Fauxbar's Options > General mentioning this potential
keyboard shortcut conflict, as it is a bit confusing.

Fixed in v1.4.0. (added a note and link under Fauxbar's Options > General)
