Ah, right.
Under chrome://extensions > Keyboard shortcuts, the shortcut for "Open
Fauxbar's Address Box in a new tab" is set to "Ctrl+T" by default now.
But if you remove this shortcut, Ctrl+T will then trigger Chrome's normal
Ctrl+T behaviour, and so if you've set "Chrome's Omnibox" to be focused,
removing the shortcut will make this work as you're expecting.
I will add a note under Fauxbar's Options > General mentioning this potential
keyboard shortcut conflict, as it is a bit confusing.

Fixed in v1.4.0. (added a note and link under Fauxbar's Options > General)
