Old habits I suppose! The Search Box can be disabled via Fauxbar's Options >
General > Input Boxes > Display, if desired.
I prefer having both boxes, because I like being able to quickly search by
pressing Ctrl+T and pressing tab; one keystroke less than typing a
keyword/letter and pressing spacebar. I also like being able to right-click >
Paste (or Paste & Search) without having to first select a search engine.
As well, if I'm constantly using one particular search engine (perhaps not a
normal one), typing its keyword or selecting it from the list a lot just gets
annoying. I find having the designated Search Box saves me time.
And by letting the Address Box also work like the Search Box, you can still
type a keyword and press spacebar if you want, rather than having to first
select the Search Box (assuming the search engine you want is not already
selected in the Search Box). Again, saving a keystroke and saving time.
If the Search Box is disabled, I feel like it takes extra effort to perform a
search. But everyone's usage habits are different, so the option to show or
hide the box is there.

Oops! I didn't realise that option was there. To be honest I haven't
yet looked over all of Fauxbar's options although I know there are
many: about 60?
Thanks for all that information. I can understand why you search these
the way you do. The beauty of the configuration options of Fauxbar is
that the user can decide which option they prefer: one or two search
bars. Everybody wins!

Aye, there's a lot of options (that's why I have that blue bar appear after the
initial setup is complete, basically forcing the user to open the options,
which removes the blue bar - I want them to be aware that there are _lots_ of
options!)
I imagine some users won't ever change much of anything, apart from maybe the
search engines. So I've tried to choose what I think are the best defaults to
start with. If you get curious, you can certainly delve into the options, but
if not, that's okay too.

The default configuration works well but I think you have made
available an intelligent set of options. Not too many but enough that
people can adjust the appearance and behaviour so that it suits them.
