Texture Rendering Glitch on High Sierra #687

Hi there! Thanks so much for your work on this mod. It's really awesome and I appreciate it. I want to report the following bug/error:

Here is my full mod list:

screen shot 2018-03-06 at 10 52 43

System stats:

2013 MBPro 2.4GHz i5, 8G Ram, Intel Iris 1536MB, High Sierra 10.13.3, KSP 1.3.1.1891

(note: since I'm playing on High Sierra, Squad support suggested I open KSP using the force opengl command)

sudo chmod -R 777 (notice there's a space after the last 7) After that, drag and drop your KSP folder to the terminal window and press enter. Next type your Mac password followed by the Enter key, it will appear as though you're not typing anything, it's normal.

After that, since you're using macOS High Sierra, you are going to have to start KSP using the -force-opengl argument. Since you bought the store version, the best way to do so is to download the file from this address: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/files/KSPOGL.command

Attempted Troubleshooting thus far:

When I remove all other mods, it still happens:

But not all parts are like that:

However, when I play using the regular app/launcher the glitch seems to disappear and the textures render normally. The problem is that's not very stable on High Sierra at the moment. Maybe it's just a problem I have to deal with for now but SSTU (and a couple Chop Shop parts) are the only mods where this occurs. Thank you regardless!

I'm still running yosemite for compatibility reasons... I plan on getting a new mac later this year, though, then I will be stuck with the new OS, and I can help troubleshoot.

@taterkerman @shadowmage45 I wanted to update you both:

It does appear it's a glitch with the -force -opengl argument workaround on Mac. I haven't tried KSP 1.4 yet as I'm waiting for mods to update, but 1.3.1 and the -opengl is causing the black engines. Not sure though, why it's affecting some parts in SSTU but not others.
