2.3 Install Mysql> I am stuck with installation process because it says syntax in correct.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Followed the steps for MySql installation as guided my installer. 
2. After that I have typed the given command mysql -u root -p<password>

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: After clicking enter expect to get in Mysql propmpt.

Actual: says syntax incorrect.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

windows7
Please provide any additional information below.

Please make Mysql installation process somehow clear.
