fails for any file whose name contains a "%"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Put a % in the name of a file with a .txt or other suitable extension
2. Select the file in Finder
3. Hit the spacebar

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to see the content of the file.
Instead, I see:
cat: (null): No such file or directory highlight: Unknown source file extension 
"(null)".cat: (null): No such file or directory

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.1.0 on system 10.5.8 

Please provide any additional information below.
That's it. Very simple. It doesn't like %'s
