Global feed generation and display is slow #56

It currently takes me about 6 seconds to load my global feed. This is unacceptably slow. In addition, the interface is highly-unresponsive; mousing-over each entry, it takes a significant fraction of a second for the "Delete" link to show up.

This only seems to happen on the global feed; the activity feeds on the anime and user pages load quickly and are very responsive.
