Revisit API and result distribution #299

After the Alpha, we should have a design discussion / review of the current API 
and result handling mechanisms and policies. Since this part of the code is 
expected to have the highest "traffic" as users use the system, we should pay 
close attention to it.

I would suggest we get together in a conference room and do a broad code review.

Required developers at the review: Raman, Sattam, Zach, Young-Seok, Vinayak
