ADM and JSON output vs. load formats #893

We need to be able to (ALSO) take ADM and JSON inputs - in load - that we 
produce as query results!  (Logging an issue discussed in today's meeting.)  
For loading, only [ rec1, rec2, ... ] or rec1, rec2, ... are legal inputs, so 
it should be easy to support both.  (Datasets can only have records as their 
top-level type.)
