In-depth feature comparison between Banshee, RythmBox, Amarok, iTunes and Windows Media player #24

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Do an in-depth feature and performance comparison between Banshee,
RythmBox, Amarok, iTunes and Windows Media player.

The performance comparison is just checking the memory consumption of each
app on startup with an empty library, as well as perceived load time.

Deliverables:

A wiki page with the list of features in a comparison table, with links to
a description of each feature, and also screenshots of the various features.

Just to note: I am interested in doing this, but currently have committed to
another
issue. Should nobody else have claimed this issue by the time I complete the
one I'm
already working on, this will be my next stop.

How would I do a performance comparison on windows? Also, I don't have linux
installed on my computer. How would I test the other music players? (I do
have live
CDs, but don't they run slower?)
