Localize MonoDevelop to Hebrew #32

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
MonoDevelop is an IDE for writing desktop applications for GNOME.

We are looking for localizing MonoDevelop on a number of languages,
starting with the latest version.

MonoDevelop uses the standard GetText framework for translating applications.

This task is to translate MonoDevelop to Hebrew.

I claim this task!

This task is already claimed by AcePace, as he was the first to mention doing
Hebrew
on task 8. If he is unable to complete the task, we will re-open it to be
claimed by
someone else.

We need some action on this, or we will have to re-open in per the contest
rules so
that someone else can have a chance.

What does this status change mean?
Is this task open again?

Original comment by elida...@gmail.com on 14 Dec 2007 at 11:48

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Officially it means that the contestant has 24 hours to submit work, and if
this is
not done, the task will become open.

Okay, open again. First to post their claim will get this task (I know some of
you
expressed interest, but I don't know if you're working on other tasks).

Where exactly are located the files for translation?

Original comment by elida...@gmail.com on 19 Dec 2007 at 6:50

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
elidaian: In Issue 8 I posted some info about gettext translations (comment
20), and
the untranslated PO file (comment 30).

If you want to check out your translation "in place", the current release MD
version
(0.18) should work with that PO file. See comment 33/34 on Issue 8 for info.
Post a
comment here if you have any problems.

OK Thank you
I knew about the PO files, but I didn't know where to get them.
Now I know that I have to get them from the SVN.

Btw, we could probably open a number of other tasks for other tools that we ship
(Mono-tools for instance) that could use localization to Hebrew as well (monodoc
browser).

I'm busy with other tasks myself, but I have a few friends who would probably do
translation tasks for hebrew.

I'll be happy to translate other Mono tools to Hebrew :-)
