Hello, Benedict.
Some of the icons you listed were done by the issue #29 [1]. I don't know if
text and
html files needs an proper icon other than the used by gnome-icon-theme.

vdepizzol is correct; although text and HTML icons might be needed on other
platforms, on GNOME we may be okay. It may be that the gnome-icon-theme license
would
allow us to ship these on other platforms. I'm not sure about the XML one
either.
I really need info from Lluis on which icons he's added, as some of the icons
on that
page seem to have been replaced already, as one can see from the history at
http://anonsvn.mono-project.com/viewcvs/trunk/monodevelop/main/src/core/MonoDeve
lop.Core.Gui/icons/
vdepizzol has already added (issue #29)
New project (project-add),
visibility-private
visibility-protected
However, you're all clear for:
Toggle bookmark
Go to next bookmark
Go to previous bookmark
Clear all bookmarks
protected-internal
protected-public

I suggest using vdepizzol's SVN project icons for "Build project". You'll need
to
pick another three as well.
I apologies for the disorganisation...

I decided to do task 8 before, because i'll have to learn inkscape,
I am not able to learn how to create 10 Icons for Tango theme in less than 4
days
(sunday I'd like to have a non working day)
So the translation part at task 8 seems to be easier for me in this time.
maybe I'll draw icons later but I've to learn it first

What icons are still open after those were taken, i would like to do this task
if i
can have some more info.
Can I make the icons in Photoshop, or must they be svg files?
Original comment by grizl...@gmail.com
on 8 Dec 2007 at 7:26
We would like SVG source files, though they're not completely essential -- but
trust
me, they make things a lot easier, both to draw the icons and to update them in
future. You can use Inkscape, a Free SVG application. Icons usually need to be
touched up later in the GIMP or Photoshop to make sure they're sharp at the
different
sizes; the final icons need to be in PNG format.
The Tango Guidelines describe the style you need to use, and also have some
videos on
icons creation with Inkscape and the GIMP:
http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Icon_Theme_Guidelines
The completed icons are the ones in Issue #29 (you can take a look at the SVG
source
files if you're interested), and I've removed most of them from the page of
missing
icons. However, I'd like you to draw up a list of ones you'd like to do so that
I can
approve it and create a task for you.

"Build project" should use the same metaphor that is currently in use (and also
being
used in the completed isssue's icons)
As for "Bookmark", both the Tango and GNOME icon themes use totally different
metaphors, is this a good idea to not follow those?
"protected-public" and "protected-internal" don'tprotected-public
protected-internal make any sense to me, sorry...
XML and HTML should match the style of the other mime type icons. Also, Tango
icons
should not have a mirror reflection.
The last one is kind of nice, but the warning sign is unreadable at 16x16 and I
think
this icon should be more similar to the new pad-task-list icon...

I agree with everything Michael Monreal said, and I apologise for taking a
while to
reply myself. Don't worry, in general I won't count the time you spend waiting
for me
to reply as time spent on the project.
In addition:
* The icons should be consistent with other Tango icons in terms of colours and
lightness, as well as metaphors and components like directional arrows. Take a
look
at the Tango icon themes, and the tango versions of the GTK and Gnome themes.
* The icons should be visually consistent with existing Tangoed Monodevelop
icons,
re-using things like the "Project" representation.
* As stated on the Missing_Icons page, the visibility icons "should be designed
as an
overlay to be combined with language elements"
* Be aware that tango style guidelines can require slightly different icons at
different scales, for example stroke widths. Please read though the Guidelines
fully!
* Needed sizes are listed on the Missing_Icons page. The full range is 16x16,
22x22,
32x32 and 48x48.

I'm interested in this also, It is listed as open, but I see higgylm has posted
a
solution. If I still can get credit for this, I claim this task. I will do any
needed 10, but am somewhat confused about which still need to be done. So if:
1)I can get credit for this task
and
2)You can provide a list of which still need to be created, then

vixinu: Xml and html are already taken in Issue 51, and "find in document" will
probably use GTK's built-in search icon.
Since you're interested in the ASP.NET control icons, could I suggest that you
do a
set of those? They'd be going into the Mono Project ASP.NET dlls.

Hello, Hutchinson.
Is this task still open? Now that my vacation ended, I can draw more 10 icons,
just
like I did in Issue 29.
Thank you :)

Hey videpizzol,
Good to see you around again!
Definitely, yes! I believe the last date for *starting* a task is 22nd Jan, so
if
you're quick, you might manage two sets :)
Currently none of the icons at http://monodevelop.com/Missing_Icons are claimed,
except the ASP.NET ones.
However, most important are the rest of the language items set
(Interface/Struct/Property/Event/Delegate/Enumeration/Assembly items and the
Internal
access overlay), so that we can combine then with the items and overlays you did
already to have a complete (and therefore usable) set. Post a list of icons
here and
I'll fork a task for you.

Hey m.j.hutchinson!
I don't know well how to represent some language items. Do you have a list of
current
icons used in Monodevelop or some links showing icons that might use the same
metaphor?
By now, I would choose the following icons:
bookmark-toogle
bookmark-next
bookmark-previous (and custom icons to right-to-left language)
bookmark-clear-all
find-next
breakpoint
(and some language items I don't know yet)
Thank you :)

Ok, now I have a final list with 10 icons:
- bookmark-toogle
- bookmark-next
- bookmark-previous
- bookmark-clear-all
- find-next
- breakpoint
- delegate
- event
- property
- enumeration
Thank you! :)
