Monodevelop - use multiview desktop #55

It would be nice for Monodevelop to be able to use the multi views on the
desktop. This way when using monodevelop you can assign a view for each
?tab?. So I can have the source code editor in one view and then the build
output in another, or which ever you like. Instead of clicking each tab to
get to the desired window, you can just switch to a different view.

Having all the tabs and minimizing them takes time and display room.

This is a really interesting idea, particularly in the light of quick-flip
switchers
like compiz. However, and I'm sorry to disappoint you, it's way beyond the
scope of a
GHOP project (5 days, around schoolwork). It'd require setting up some kind of
integration between Compiz (or metacity, kwin etc) and the MD Docking library.

Right now you can separate off the panels and move them to other workspaces
yourself.
It may be that compiz has a plugin for remembering their workspaces and
positions, or
maybe devilspie (metacity addition IIRC) can do this.

However, there are a couple of MD features that may make things easier for you
already:
*Layouts: You can create pad layouts, and switch them from the toolbar. This
could be
improved with keybindings and better settings management, and this might make a
good
GHOP-sized task.
* Quick maximise: double-clicking on the document tab will auto-hide all pads,
or
re-show them. I think you can assign a binding to this already.
