compass orientation indication for geo tagged photos #630

What should this feature enhancement do?

Utilize the Compass orientation metadata from photos to indicated the
orientation of photos when geo tagging them on a map.

maybe when hovering over a pin pick, the icon could change to indicate
orientation that photo was taken at?

Asked this question on Quora:

apologies if this is the wrong place to post this feature request... seems
applicable to picasa, picasaweb, and google earth. I just posted here as well:

Earth (and Maps) does not read photo metadata at all. Even when creating a
photo overlay (instead it is dropped at your current view location, altitude
and orientation).

Location, orientation and balloon content for geo-tagged photos are all created
by Picasa, Picasaweb or whatever service is using Google Earth/Maps to display
geo-located photos.

This should be a feature request to Picasa, not GE, in my opinion.

Thanks Todd.. Then my 2nd post over at the Picasa Help Forum was perhaps the
better place..... or is there an ever better place than that to submit this
feature request?
