Alt-Backspace (or Ctrl-Backspace) deletes whole line instead of single word

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Type an SMS with normal mode from a browser in OS X. Not the mode; "F4 = Edit 
locally/ submit (alpha)"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected standard behaviour is that only the single word just back of the 
cursor gets deleted when hitting Alt-Backspace on the computer keyboard.
(Alt-Backspace is in OS X. As I recall equivalent to Ctrl-Backspace on 
GNU/Linux and Windows?)
Instead the whole line at which the cursor is placed is deleted. All words both 
in front and behind the cursor gets deleted.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

WifiKeyboard market version from 9th June 2013 on Samsung Galaxy S with 
CM10.1.3-RC2.
And with Chrome browser in OS X 10.6

Please provide any additional information below.

When using the "F4 = Edit locally/ submit (alpha)" mode. The behaviour is 
normal; Alt-Backspace deletes only the first word in back of the cursor.

As backspace deleting words is a big habit, I keep loosing text :- )

It actually seems like a general problem when using the Alt modifier key.

Navigating in the text input field, like moving the cursor one word at a time 
(instead of moving it a single character at a time) doesn't work either

Normally holding down the Alt-key (OS X, probably Ctrl in Linux&Windows) and 
hitting the left/right arrow keys on the keyboard would make the cursor jump 
one word back or forth.
