Through live discussions with @ericprud @justinwb it was agreed that ecosystems, as currently documented in the specification, do not make sense. Additionally, given the intention of shape tree validation occurring server-side any ecosystem invocations must occur client-side -- as a result these can be factored out to any ecosystem-specific implementations that wrap/use a shape tree implementation.
