Error could not figure out format custom sounding #226

Open weather01089 opened 2 years ago

Doing a file/open on a custom sounding file designed around the SPC format as posted, I get "could not figure out format" error

I named the file with a .SHV extension. the spec does indicate a lat/lon can be specified, but I named it SHV for testing.

Sounding file attached. I had to add .txt extension for it to upload.

Thanks! Ray Weber 11241631.SHV.txt

Opening your attachment in notepad, it looks like there are several lines with no temperature, and a hard return where the temperature should be. These all appear to be on lines where they are at the same pressure level as a previous line in the sounding text. For example, 846.3, 813.1, 725.1, 722.7 mb, etc..

Edit...there's also a garbage number at the end of file instead of the proper %END%.

I see that, corrected and its loading now. Also the month/day were reversed.

Thanks!

Ray
