Hawaii Observed Soundings Missing #252

Open PeterCurran opened 4 months ago

Hello,

Would it be possible to add the observed soundings from Lihue, Hawaii (PHLI) and Hilo, Hawaii (PHTO) ?

Thank You !

This is more a problem with the data source than SHARPpy. The observed soundings come from the SPC sounding archive, and for some reason that only ever has data for the continental US plus a few extras. It looks like SHARPpy has support for those stations, but unfortunately the data just isn't there.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Is there a contract at SPC that I may reach out to regarding this issue ?

Thank You, Pete Curran

You could maybe try emailing john.hart@noaa.gov and richard.thompson@noaa.gov. They are the contacts listed on the SPC sounding archive and they've been fairly responsive in the past when I've asked them question. Not sure if they could help resolve the issue or not, but at the very least thy might be able to let you know why the data for Hawaii isn't there.
