Redesign Sounding Selection Map #39

@tsupinie has already made significant strides in this direction in the map-selector branch. The only reason I am opening this is to be able to keep track of it for milestone purposes.

Since we are getting ready to release v1.2, and @tsupinie will not be making any more changes (other than bug fixes), will close this issue. Release soon to follow.
