Crop roots in Voxels? #12

Do crop roots interact with the tree roots which are in voxels? Because STICS is 1D, I assumed the crop roots are not inside voxels, but how does competition occur then? If there are crop roots in voxels, how do they "grow" inside of STICS?

In hisafe soil is 3D and in each voxel you can have tree roots AND crop roots. The crop root density is loaded from STICS each day.
