Stream Deck having issues with HWiNFO plugin #61

The Stream Deck seems to be unable to use the plugin. While it shows in the Stream Deck store and can be installed from there, after installing, it can't be used. If Stream Deck is closed then reopened, the plugin shows as never installed.

I tried installing the plugin via GitHub, but it says the plugin is already installed. I feel like I've tried every manner of uninstall/reinstall/restart. I've ensured both my Stream Deck software and firmware are up to date. It was working flawlessly (I loved it) but then it just suddenly stopped about 2 weeks ago. I've checked HWiNFO settings to ensure it is configured correctly. Not too sure what the issue is.

Not sure what's up, but let's see if we can get it working!

  1. Exit the Stream Deck software completely
  2. Start -> Run -> %APPDATA%\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins
  3. Shift+Delete "com.exension.hwinfo.sdPlugin"
  4. Launch the Stream Deck software
  5. Download the latest release from GitHub
  6. Double-click the com.exension.hwinfo.streamDeckPlugin file you downloaded

I'd expect it to install and be available to use. If that doesn't work I'd try deleting the keys that had HWiNFO widgets and trying again.

FWIW I still use this plugin every day and haven't experienced any recent issues.

Thanks for the prompt reply! I checked the past threads, but I missed the %appdata% folder. I was originally looking to delete the plugin from the Program Files location. It looks like that did the trick, thank you!

I'm actually having the same issue (followed your instructions too and still can't get it to communicate). When looking at the streamdeck app it cycles saying "Loading..." and then goes back to unable to communicate.

odd i had my issue fixed after opening the sensors page once. Well it won't work if the sensors page isn't actively loaded. If you load it once the streamdeck plugin populates but it won't update anything unless the sensors page is running.

@liquidfrollo any fix for that? I'm experiencing same issue.

@MarosHruby i checked the "Show Sensors on Startup" box and then "Minimize Sensors on Startup" same for min vs closing. It works like a champ with all of that selected.

This fix worked great for me. Thank you!
