Plugin update for SD+ #21

Hello. No issue here, just a request. Will this plugin be updated for stream deck plus, using dial and rotary buttons ? Tks.

Hi, not unless Elgato (or RME) sponsors me one of those devices (or someone offers me a contract to migrate it for the SD+). I'm not really interested in spending the 230 bucks out of my personal money plus the time to migrate it for something I don't need.

I've got a Loupedeck Live which has dials and buttons as well - and migrated my plugin over to their platform. If you're in the market for such a device, you might consider that instead, it's somewhat similar priced, depending where you buy it from - the only downside is the lack of general plugins, which improves, but takes time... depending on what you need and actually use that might not be an issue though.

Cheers

Great tks for the answer. I understand.

Ah that's unfortunate. The rotary knobs on the Stream Deck Plus would be absolutely perfect for volume control. Volume adjustment via buttons just doesn't feel right.

I would be happily click on the buy button on an amazon wishlist for the SD+ (just because I would save some money by not turning on my SSL UTF-8s when not working in the DAW) - maybe some people could come up with a paypal donation for the programming work? (definitively cheaper than if I try to get into the plugin programming and the protocol they use)

My wish list..

Maybe a request-feature text/link button in the plugin would add more people to make contributions?

Well, I'm busy enough with my daytime job already. If I'd accept a device from you through a wishlist or however that would kind of put the pressure on me to actually do something with that in a timely manner because you spent your hard earned personal money on it (besides, for a freelance job that's a very bad deal time-vs-money-wise, especially if I in return get something I don't really need - as stated above). Also, that's not really a money-issue. I earn (some might say more than) enough with what I do for a living, I don't care about 50 bucks here or there, what's worth more than that for me personally is spare time. So I'd rather get that thing myself when I feel I got spare time and the mood for it (or there's a good deal, or both) and when something came out of it, I gladly accept whatever you can spare and feel is a fair amount through a donation (keeping in mind where I live I got to income tax that stuff, so don't make the tax office too happy 😉 )

I don't think so to be honest. There already is a link to the GitHub page in various places in the plugin, here's this issue tracker, I activated Github Discussions (which no one is using), Google ranks the GitHub page even before the Elgato Store in the first results for most keywords people would search for - and frankly: who's able to code a contribution to that thing will definitely find the page even without all that. For the kind of "I'd like to have this and that" random user requests, the same applies. Plus... as stated multiple times, I don't use RME Interfaces anymore for anything, I just maintain this plugin when I feel like it - and it's surely not for the money, in the 4 or 5 years since I wrote it combined, there came (way) less money out of it from donations than hours went into. I'm not sure what people think how much such a niche StreamDeck plugin gets you in donations, but it's maybe 20c per hour; and that even before taxes. Long way of saying: I'm not going full "I sell a software product so I please everybody as much as I can" on it because I don't sell it, if that makes sense

Anyway. I might get a SD+ at some point and then surely I'll look into adding the functionality you're looking for then, but no promises or roadmap.
