Thank you for your changes. I am going try and use in in a VM first, before installing on my daily machine.
I have also found other updated sources, incase you want to incorporate those fixes/changes, please see this website.
27-02-2008 Version 3.3 (VDK.SYS 3.3, VDK.EXE 3.3)
All modifications done by Hardy Pawletta for Tom Ehlert Software
http:/www.drivesnapshot.de
- Added 64bit compatibility for the driver
- the 32 and 64 bit drivers are part of the .exe and
are extracted on the fly
- Added support for the MountManager
- Added several IOCTL's needed to allow restore with
Drive Snapshot
- made drive letter assignment optional
(this is done by XP automatically)
Luckily, Ken Kato has created an Open Source Driver VDK, that allows to mount entire VMWare disks.
The original at http://chitchat.at.infoseek.co.jp/vmware/vdk.html is no longer availkable.
Unfortunately, neither Windows Disk Manager nor Drive Snapshot detect this disk.
Luckily, VDK is open source (thanks, Ken), and we could modify VDK (slightly), so that at least Drive Snapshot recognizes the virtual drive.
Just download VDK.EXE (no warranties of any kind).
Sourcecode is available here.
