[Enhancement] Backport to Cordova 6.x.x #25

If possible, please lower the required Cordova version to 6.x.x to extend supported Android versions to include the ~3% of us who still use old versions.

If there is a specific reason that the Cordova version must be at least 7.x.x, please delete this issue.

I'm not sure what the differences between v6 and v7 are exactly and whether there's anything in v7 that Spark needs, but I'll definitely look into that!
