Hi,
If you change the language in the html file that change won't get propagated to
the selector box. The default in the selector box will always be english. If
you want you can disable the selector box entirely in the client's config.xml
If you change the value to some other language and not all strings update, that
means that those localization files are missing those strings.
For your final question, the welcome message is set through the API. It is
something specific to each conference and there's no reason for it to be in the
language template file.
From now on, if you have questions and are not sure that these are bugs, please
write to the bigbluebutton-setup mailing list. More people read the list than
the issue tracker and we'll be better able to help you there.

Ok. Thanks for your answer. I understand about localization and welcome message, but i still think that always english in the selector box is wrong.
In my case, when native language is russian, I have to disable this selector
box because it displays incorrect value. But if one will hold a webinar with a
foreigner, he can not switch the interface language and it will cause problems
with the translation module, since as far as I understand it the value of the
operand selector box.
Very sorry for my english.

Same for me. localeChain is set to "us_EN" but language selector still shows
"English" on startup.

Ubuntu?
Thanks,
