The test https://github.com/shexSpec/shexTest/blob/master/negativeStructure/1focusRefANDSelfdot.shex is syntactically valid according to the ShEx 2.0 spec.

In the editor's draft, Shape Expression Reference Requirement now clarifies this schema requirement. If this addresses the problem, please close the issue.
