Hi,

Can you please add "send as SMS" option to the tickets system?

Now we can sent emails to our customers via the ticket system, but sometime sending an email is not good enough and we need to send SMS to the customer regarding his case (with urgent information or when there is a problem with his mail or after sending several mails without a response etc).

I think that adding a "send as SMS" option to the tickets system will help lots of customers using WHMCS ticket system.

Main aspects of the system should be:

  1. Add the option to send and receive SMS to and from a specific contact that the ticket is opened on - via the ticket system (add an option to select if the reply will be sent via sms or mail).

Please note that the SMS should be sent to the relevant contact only - not to any other phone number.

Maybe there should also be a way to add an ad hock number to sent the SMS to.

See Untitled1.png attached: https://requests.whmcs.com/attachments/265

  1. Each SMS (sent or received) should be added to the regular correspondence in the ticket system. There should be an indication if the massage was sent or received via SMS

See Untitled2.png attached: https://requests.whmcs.com/attachments/266

  1. There should be a way to use the predefined reply to send SMS (If we use a new button in the same tab - like option #2 in Untitled1.png - there shouldn't be a problem).

What do you think?

Thanks!

Ram

Hello @TheRamSan ,

Receiving sms is so much complicated. We need to create an endpoint, and it has to be secure for hack attempts. I cannot guarantee that. While we are sending sms, we only use Whmcs inline system. Also so many providers doesnt allow receive sms. Also i dont know that they have hook for request endpoint. It's complicated.

BTW, i dont think it is necessary -receiving sms.

For your first request, we are already sending sms when you reply a ticket? Why do you need extra link for this, i didnt understand.

Hi @shibby Thanks for the reply :-)

I guess that receiving SMS is indeed complicated. But I think that allowing 2 way communication via SMS is a great improvement to the system.

Lots of customers use SMS to communicate in there daily life - and it's always 2 ways communication.

Just as you want to send SMS to a customer - the customer want to send an SMS to you.

Think on your SMS or WhatsApp activities... your friend or family member sent you a message via WhatsApp but instead of quickly and easily replying to the message - you have to call / send mail / login to a website in order to reply....

Don't you think that having the option to reply via SMS to an SMS will be more convenient to customers? When a customer can communicate with us freely and easily it is more likely he will buy something.

I know there are SMS providers that do offer such an option - So hopefully It's something that can be done.

Regarding the second issue - Now I can send SMS directly from a ticket? The SMS text is stored in the ticket regular correspondence list? If so - is there an indication if the massage was sent via SMS?

Thanks! Ram
