Using the new processing.sound core library by @wirsing. My tentative plan is:

[x] basic sound file playback (music, sound effect)
[x] playback manipulation (amplitude, rate, pan)
[x] simple sound synthesis (a wave?)
[x] audio input, volume tied to ellipse size
[x] audio input, thresholding (trigger event on clap)
[x] audio input, spectrum???

Spectrum would be a great addition. FFT + Processing can be really powerful for visualizations but I think it is also a bit mysterious especially to folks who haven't come across it before. I'd love to come up with a friendly way to introduce this concept (that I could use for p5.sound as well!)

first pass complete, now considering:

[x] quick explanation of midi notes
[x] envelopes
[x] effects

First pass is done, can close this and file individual sound issues.
