Call controls disappear after receiving call

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Sign in to sipgate account
2. Call sipgate DID number from any phone
3. Answer the call in siphon
4. Call controls (e.g. mute, hang up) will disappear within a few seconds of 
picking up, but the call will continue

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I was expecting the call controls to behave the same as when dialing out, with 
the ability to switch between controls and the dial pad. Instead, I get sent 
back to the dialpad in a mode for dialing (numbers hit here aren't heard on the 
remote side)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Siphon version 3.9.9 on iOS 4.3.1 (on an iPod Touch 4G)

Also tested on upgrade Siphon version 3.9.10 with same behavior.

The key effect of this behavior is that it isn't possible to hang up on 
incoming calls from within the app, nor is it possible to put incoming calls on 
mute or send keypad tones.
