tbh I've kinda avoided donations, partly because I've got a salary so I don't really need funding on side-projects or anything, but also I'd rather avoid tempting the wrath of Big D's lawyers lol.

Basically the only spending I encourage is on the original game via GOG/Steam (or spending time filing bug reports, they're extremely helpful for keeping track of things)
