Describe the problem: For those of us plug and play users, we haven't gotten an 
update since 2010.

If you would actually look around a bit, they have not developed a working GUI 
for v2 yet, and there hasn't been an update to the actual emu (only the wikis) 
for about a year.

school.player: Hm? Isn't wxmupen64plus [1] working for you? And why do you 
think that the emulator wasn't updated? Do you mean by updated that a tarball 
was uploaded? But the actual emulator was further developed in the last year. 
Please look at the bitbucket pages of richard42 [2] and wahrhaft [3].

There are also movements to completely replace the current dynamic recompiler 
with a version that works on armel, i386 and amd64 (slightly faster, less 
memory hungry). At least those mupen64plus ports for pandora/mobile phones 
already use this new dynarec from Ari64.
