Proposal:
Enhance the Slackbot functionality to welcome and guide new users when they join the #shipwright channel. The bot would provide useful information that helps them get started with the community.
Suggested Enhancements:
Greet new users when they join the channel (it should be visible to them only)
Guide them on how to contribute:
A link to contribution guidelines.
Repos where they can start contributing.
Any good first issues to help them get started.
Information on who to contact for specific queries.
Inform them about the community meetings.
Mention them key knowledge areas that can help them contribute quicker.
Benefits:
This will provide new users with clear guidance on how they can get started with contributing in our community.
