Can't save whole page screenshots as PNG #312

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load page (only seems to affect pages of a certain length)
2. Capture Whole Page
3. Save screenshot to Desktop

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect a new image file to appear on my desktop, but instead I see a message 
at the top of the window saying, "Failed to save the screenshot." No more 
information about what went wrong is offered.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Chrome 26.0.1410.65
Mac OS X 10.8.3

Please provide any additional information below.
This problem appears intermittent. It is possibly related to the length of the 
content, but I can't be sure. It also seems that switching to JPEG images 
instead of PNG works.

Same here. I'm on Chrome 26.0.1410.65 using Mac OS X 10.8.3

After some screendumps, every other save fails. It seems that with short pages 
I can make more screenshots than with long pages.

A chrome restart "resets" the issue.

Why does this take so long to fix? The whole page screenshot can not save and 
people have to restart the browser again and again...
