plz add this to default /etc/screenrc:

altscreen on
caption always '%{= dg} %H %{G}| %{B}%l %{G}|%=%?%{d}%-w%?%{r}(%{d}%n %t%? {%u}
%?%{r})%{d}%?%+w%?%=%{G}| %{B}%M %d %c:%s '

to improve the convenience of working with screen,
besides, it certainly does not hurt
plz share your opinion on this topic,
thx

I think it's neat, but I'm not sure I want this kind of customization in pentoo.

Do we?

dear sir

"Pentoo is a security-focused livecd based on Gentoo

it's basically a Gentoo, a Linux-based operating system and a
meta-distribution, which means that it is built automatically from source code
and is customized with the functionality that you want to have and without the
unnecessary features that you want to avoid, with lots of customized tools,
customized kernel, and much more..."

so this proposal is in harmony with the spirit of pentoo, it improve the
convenience of working with screen (benefit for the user) significantly
affecting the ergonomics of work.
as an user, i expect that everything will be set, and that i could execute my
job efficiently and ergonomically without the need for additional intervention
in settings, please remember that we are talking about the livecd and not a
desktop or server, changes are minimal and may be applied by a patch to make it
look more right so the catalyst can get it from the overlay - right?

I'd love to see this, it's exactly what I append to /etc/screenrc before even
touching anything else on a system.

But I don't see Pentoo customizing screen, maybe if Gentoo would be willing to
add this to their ebuild, but that's not Pentoo's job.
On Pentoo's LiveCD it would be rather cool though.

Btw, just saw that GNU screen finally has a new version! Hurray, it can split
the terminal window both vertically and horizontally!
