we have too many 'dd' clones:
 dd-rescue, ddrescue, dcfldd and now, dc3dd.

Do you really need all of them?.. Personally, I would trust as much simpler 
tool as possible, i.e. dd. it works.

In long run, dc3dd looks more promising. As for now, dcfldd is better.
