Clean up references to master branch #228

After renaming the default branch from master to main, this cleans up references to the old branch name in the README file and the CodeQL action configuration file.

Fixes #225

TODO

[x] Check that the CodeQL action passes
[x] Update the default branch on CodeCov (it seems it might need a moment to update its list of branches, I couldn't yet make the change last I checked)

Merging #228 (236cbde) into main (f1ca9be) will not change coverage. The diff coverage is n/a.

Codecov hasn't completely caught up on the rename. The action works as expected, but its still calling the branch master internally. I'm expecting that this means that the codecov badge will not work properly yet if I change it to point at main instead of master. I will merge that anyway, hoping that it will work once codecov refreshes the available branches. If it doesn't happen by tomorrow or so, I'll look into a way to manually force a refresh.
