My platform (a TI DSP) doesn't have the following headers:

<sys/types>  //only needed for EINTR / EAGAIN, could you use different error 
codes here?

<sys/time>  //doesn't seem necessary at all
<unistd>    //doesn't seem necessary

would be nice if they weren't required, or were configurable somehow.
