Hi Matija,
Just a quick note to let you know I have been trying to get time to look at this and had a look today.
Your static build approach definitely seems the best way forward to supporting Unity into the future as it doesn't look like Nux will be updated to support newer >=media-libs/glew-2.0 (glewmx removed).
My only concern is that it will need some runtime testing (Unity/Nux with a statically linked glew-1.13 running on top of a system-wide glew-2.x) and seeing if that causes some unforseen issue.
My first priority is to get Artful Unity running in Gentoo of which I've not had the time to have much success with lately, but will endeavour to over the coming days/weeks.
In the meantime I'll include a >=media-libs/glew-2.0 package mask in both Zesty and Artful profiles so as to remove the nuisance of dependency warnings/failures.
Older media-libs/glew stable versions 1.10.0 and 1.13.0 are still actively supported in Gentoo's main tree so that should buy us some time until testing is complete.
Thanks :)
This will make it possible to have nux installed alongside glew-2.0
