Launching Steam gets stuck on steamwebhelper runtime

Every time I launch Steam via the steam command, I get stuck on the following:

steamwebhelper.sh[99021]: Runtime for steamwebhelper: defaulting to /usr/home/steam/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_64/steam-runtime-heavy

It just says its "Connecting Steam account: my username..." in the GUI. This seems to repeat as that [99021] above increases. Any ideas?

I generated a typescript and ran it again. Got a segfault this time... typescript.txt

Resolved through the latest FreeBSD 13 quarterly update. Seems the version I had was from September.
