Several tested games #97

The following games are playable:

(Games marked with an asterisk are Windows/Mac-only, but playable with emulators/wine-proton.)

Note on Portal 2:

The wiki lists this game as playable, which it generally is, but for me it would crash immediately when any of the gels (propulsion, repulsion etc.) came into play. This doesn't affect the original Portal listed above, which does not have gels.

Portal SHENZHEN I/O

Added those two, thank you.

We don't specifically track Windows games, but good to know.

Are you sure this isn't a problem on Linux as well?

Yep. I ended up syncing my savegame and playing the rest of Portal 2 on Arch, which worked just fine.

What GPU do you have?

SineLaude commented 1 year ago

My FreeBSD box has an old Radeon R7 260X. The Arch one is a laptop with some Ryzen 5 4000 APU. So no direct comparison there, but I couldn't find any other reports of the gels crashing the game on Linux either. Doesn't seem to be a known/common issue on officially supported platforms.

We have chrooted environments now, they might fare a bit better.
