Unable to install - Katana DLX #30

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Tried installing latest stable build.
Unable to launch install. Previously had a problem with gotalkmobile where
the monifest.mf file had long param/value pairs that went to second and
third line and were indented. Katana DLX is unable to read that and needs
param/value pairs to be on one line, even when longer than 72 characters.
Yes, I know this doesn't comply with the standards but that's what Katana
DLX wants.

All of the entries in the Manifest.mf file are on a single line. Are you sure
this
is the error?

Tried again.
Clicking on JAR, browser opens as text.
Clicking on version, "MIDlet-1:...MIDlet-Jar-Size:...etc" All of these are on
a
single line. They're not supposed to be param/value, one per line?

Do these require content-type to be set? Maybe that's why the browser thinks
it's
text?

I had to repackage gotalkmobile myself because the developer wasn't much help.
Lost
the program though.
I uploaded the files here: http://www.ookamikun.com/wap/
The JAD files have each pair on a separate line.
The JAR is recognized as an archive and Chrome gives option to download.

On your website, JAD is one line. And the JAR Chrome also opens as text.

I downloaded the JAR and tried opening with winrar, "damaged or unknown
archive".

I do believe that the content-type that Google code servers send is incorrect
and
out-of-spec. I've seen that issue when attempting OTA installs on Nokia
devices.
You can try http://yucs.org/~shmuelp/ASiddur.jad to diagnose the problem.
(That link
is temporary, and is for the development version, which is itself pretty
stable.)

How are you attempting to install? Are you trying to get the files with Chrome
or on
the device itself?

The jar file, like all other jars, is essentially a renamed zip file. I've
verified
that I'm able to unpack the jar. (Rename it to ASiddur.zip if need be.)

Works! Awesome!
Thanks.
btw, the jad and jar were messed up on your verizon site, not on google code.
Try to
open those. On google code site, clicking jad opened it as text, though on
separate
lines. Clicking jar gives "Requested Page can not be displayed" so I guess
that one
is a valid archive.

To install, I'm using phone's native browser, NetFront v3.4 for Sprint PCS.

also, Shacharit is cut off in drop down and most of the font too. The font
drop down
opens at right edge of screen and there's no room.

What is the URL to get ASiddur on my mobile (Nokia C6)? This website doesn't
seem to have one and I'd like to download it directly using the wifi on the
mobile. Please email me at ThePianoManII@hotmail.com to let me know what the
URL is.
Thank you!

http://asiddur.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/dist/ASiddur.jad
http://asiddur.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/dist/ASiddur.jar

If neither work, a slightly older version is available at:
http://yucs.org/~shmuelp/ASiddur.jad
