Requests on what to emulate. #118

Hello, I have been reading your “Edge of Emulation” for quite some time now! I would request on what to do next. Remember the Play-Yan? You will run across multiple peripherals and even consoles that use SD cards. That’s why you should create virtual SD Cards, either ISO, IMG, VHD, or BIN files that are virtual SD cards that you can pop in and out of every console, and add SD Card forwarding that uses your actual SD card in your computer and “puts” it in the emulator. Now the juicy part, stuff to emulate! First, I have been eyeing this Spongebob plug and play unit, and I saw in YouTube videos mentioning it, some people in the comments said “This is my childhood”, “Nostalgia”, “My first ever console”, etc. But what really struck me, was someone saying “I wish this was emulated”. The site it is on is https://www.google.com/search?q=spongebob+tv+games+plug+and+play&safe=strict&rlz=1C9BKJA_enUS895US896&hl=en-US&prmd=sivn&sxsrf=ALeKk00T6JA7D71QnHYyyS9c2UevkQkriQ:1624315566799&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiVpfKC56nxAhXNvZ4KHT4EAp0Q_AUoAnoECAIQAg&biw=1024&bih=653 and it is a 5 in 1 game console. A similar unit, named Fry cook games, is already emulated in MAME, so you might be in luck, as they might have similar architectures. Beware, some people that purchased this got a “Jellyfish dodge” game, and if you do, buy another one, and emulate that later. I originally found out about this console at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88C5T18sZDU , and found the emulation comment at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xnSg7pS_1E. Also, I saw you are part of the Dolphin team, and there is 2 3 unemulated peripherals on GameCube. The GameBoy Player, The SD adapter, and a Prototype Wii Remote and Nunchuck. With the GB Player, import all present and future code of obscure peripherals in there, and the Prototype Wii remote and nunchuck will be pain to find, and if you do emulate it, make it support real Wii remotes. You already know the First 2, but the prototype is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTXqgPLTjOQ, so try to find it on eBay. Now, you like being diverse in emulation, and there is more than games that need to be emulated. First, try to emulate the iPod, some models supported games themselves! If you want, you could hoard all the iPods minus the iPod Touch, as it runs on a completely different architecture. Now the grand finale, Emulate the 1st generation iPhone. That device alone was a huge leap in technological progress. It might be the most defining moment in the millennium so far. Soon, in the future where humans are in space, iPhone 1st generation would be super rare as all the collectors took it, and the average Joe that wants to experience how it felt would be out of luck. That would be the most popular thing alone I guess. Lots of people might download your entire emulator alone just to feel how the 1st iPhone felt like. Big news anchors, more specifically Apple-related would make articles about it.

Also, emulate the World Port and World Port Advance: https://youtu.be/yP1Bkfj9kDY and the Play-Yan and Play-Yan Lite. Dump the software dvd and put it on archive.org.

also, for the SpongeBob, reply to every comment with a personalized message saying it's being emulated. These consoles are real fragile, though.

I was too uneducated back then, made an updated post.
